Well....as you can see from these pictures, we fit a lot into our week in Memphis and had a blast doing it! A group of about 20 students from OC went on this Outreach mission trip. Our main outreach activity was a day camp, almost like a VBS, for kids who lived in an apartment complex near to the Raleigh Community Church of Christ that we worked with. This was part of their Memphis Urban Ministry (MUM). We picked the kids up and took them to a community center where we had a theme for each day (obedience, humility, etc.). We would sing and play games with the kids for a bit and then read the Bible story for the day and then break them into 3 age groups. We had 3 stations we rotated them through: games, skit, and memory verse stations. I helped at the memory verse station. This was from about lunch time to about 4 or 5 each day. Then after we drove the kids back to their apartment complex we had the evenings to tour Memphis! Monday night we went to watch the Portland Trailblazers take on the Memphis Grizzlies (big W for the blazers, of course :) ha ha). We also went to the movies one night and on Wednesday night we worshipped with another church....can't remember the name at the moment. We went down to Beale Street, of course, and had fun walking up and down the colorful street and listening to the live music that followed us wherever we went. It was so fun and I had the best time....with the others on the trip and with the kids at the camp. I'm so glad I chose to go to Memphis for Spring Break. Best choice ever!! Oh, and we had some amazing BBQ, too....mmmmmm :) Hope you enjoyed looking at these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!

Well, howdy there, Miss Emily. I didn't realize you had a blog until I just discovered it on the sidebar on Marilyn's blog.
Looks like a great trip to Memphis. I would guess that David had a big part in arranging the blazers and grizzlies game. That just sounds like something he'd do.
And seeing you with Sarah Mears makes me feel a little old. I still remember her being a 3rd grader in my cabin at camp. And it doesn't seem that long ago.
Glad you shared a peek into your life and I hope you post some more in the future.
Rachel
